should you drive while taking aricept

This is something to discuss with your doctor. I don't think Aricept itself would keep a person from driving, but under some circumstances it may. There may be other medications involved, as well. Also, there may be reasons why the person shouldn't drive if he or she is on Aricipt, since dementia is likely present. This is definitely something that needs to be discussed with the doctor.

I think it depends on the stage. For moderate stage of AD, if one takes aricept, this means he/she has memory problem and should not drive. For early AD, I think it depends on the doctor. If he/she gets lost or forgets how to drive to a destination, then even if he/she does not take aricept,he/she should not drive.
In general the person who takes aricept has memory problem so I would say no driving. Not because of side effects but because of the memory loss.
