Tuesday, February 16, 2010 Troubled Rosa asks

Q: Is a burning vaginal sensation normal.

Hi Doctor(S)I am experiencing a burning sensation when passing urine and I felt it last night when I went to the rest room. After passing urine, I also experience a need to go back to the rest room though not frequently. I had sex for about four hours in two days. I always use protection with my boyfriend at all times and he is the sex partner I have. Do you think it will pass? What do I have to do? My boyfriend says it is because we had sex for a long time. Could that be the cause?Troubled Rosa.

This doesn't sound normal to me. It could be a UTI. If this continues you should see a doctor. You also may want to turn to HeathCentral's sexual health site.

Good luck,

Carol
