My heart goes out to you, Patti. This isn't as unusual as it seems. This sounds like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which often involves trying to relieve anxiety by repeatedly picking and doing many other things.   With other mental illness problems and many medications involved, you have to keep working with her doctors. Medications could be working against each other.   This gets harder as the kids become adults, because of HIPAA laws, but hopefully get her to let you help. I've seen loved ones go through similar things, so I know your heartbreak and feelings of powerlessness. You may need some support of your own, through counseling. This is tough to cope with.   Carol
