If you are working with hospice and they give you the morphine and directions, likely you can. Morphine is a controlled drug, as are many pain medications. People under hospice care have a doctor in control, plus nursing staff and other caregivers. Ask hospice staff about any laws if you are concerned that you shouldn't give morphine. They can tell you, in case some states allow it and others don't. However, if this is a cerfified hospice, they wouldn't ask you to do something that isn't legal, I'm sure.
I'm sorry that you are struggling with losing a loved one, but very happy you have sought hospice help. Take care,
Carol
