Q: My sister died at age 47, from Parkinson Dementia. what would cause this diease in a young person and could it be related to the medicines she took for pain?

There are genetic and environmental aspects to Parkinson's disease and so much is unknown. My condolences to you for the loss of your sister at such a young age. That is quite unusual, as far as I know.

 

I do know that medications can have many side effects and not all of them are known for decades after we introduce them. Also, interactions play a part. If you find out more, we'd appreciate anything you have to share about this unusally young death from Parkinson's.

 

Again, I'm so sorry you've had to go through this.
