daughter of my best friend and dad

My father went to Birimingham Southern and got a Master in Mathetics. He got to go  on the GI bill after serving during vietnam. I will always remember also a strong and so what scary person to others but he loved his children. They think he got Alzehmier, demenia, and OGD. An active 65 yr old husband with Dementia

I guess I just want someone to talk to.  My husband is 65 and was diagnosed with front temporal dementia 4 yrs. ago.  It has been a gradual process.  He still drives but I don't like to drive with him, therefore, when we go someplace I do the driving.  He knows he has Dementia but doesn't think he really has memory loss etc.  He wants... Read moreChevron

My mother was diagnosed with alzhiemers at the age of 56. It progressed very fast , all the doctors say its not hereditery . But I'm not convinced doesn't it have to start somewhere? Everytime I forget something I worry . I'm I overreacting ? Or are the doctors just saying it to make me feel better even though there not?

Dad Takes The Cake

Dad is a very slow eater. I am not sure if he always was, but he sure is now. Granted, I am THRILLED he is eating well and enjoying what he eats, however, sometimes we cannot invest 2 hours in a meal so we have to try to hurry things along.
