Adults who have ADHD are more than three times more likely to develop a common type of dementia. Argentinian researchers found that 48 percent of patients who had dementia with lewy bodies (DLB) had previously suffered from adult ADHD, compared with 15 percent of those who were in the control group. Experts say that DLB and ADHD may affect the same neurotransmitter pathways.
