A Swedish study has found that the stress of a prostate cancer diagnosis contributes to an increased risk of heart problems and even suicide. Researchers looked at statistics on almost 169,000 patients and found that the risk of a cardiovascular event in the year following diagnosis was approximately three times higher for men who had been diagnosed with prostate cancer than men without prostate cancer.
