Researchers say that not getting enough sleep may sabotage your efforts to lose weight. The small study, published in the Annals of Medicine, assigned participants to one of two groups. One group received 5.5 hours of sleep while the other received 8.5 hours of sleep. At the end of the month-long study, researchers found that all participants lost the same total amount of weight, but those who slept fewer hours lost less fat and more muscle than the group who got a full night's rest.
