Exercise may be the antidote to memory decline

A new study has found that normal, age-related memory problems may be caused by rising blood sugar levels. These high blood sugar levels affect the hippocampus in the brain, a part that is responsible for learning and memory. Researchers say this new study explains why people who exercise don't have as many memory problems as sedentary people. The key is that exercise reduces blood sugar levels. Experts say this study could mean that stabilizing blood sugar levels as people age may prevent memory decline and memory disorders.  Read full story >
