Erection molecule may have an impact on the brain

The molecule nitric oxide, which controls blood pressure and a man's ability to have an erection, may also hold a key for treating Alzheimer's disease, chronic pain, and migraine. British researchers say the molecule helps the body's cells communicate with one another, including the brain's cells. Understanding the way that nitric oxide allows nerves in the brain to "think" may dramatically impact understanding of brain-related diseases, including dementia and chronic headaches, experts say.  Read full story >
