Web site lets patients 'rate' their doctors

If you've ever tried to find a new doctor, you know that it can be hard to tell which doctors are good and which aren't. Now a new Web site called Patient Central is trying to help solve that problem by allowing patients to rate their experience with doctors and posting the results. The site, which is the project of a nonprofit organization called Consumers' Checkbook, contains survey information provided by several large insurance companies who sent out questionnaires to patients about their experiences with physicians. Supporters say the site can help patients make informed decisions about which doctors to choose. But doctors say it may give a disgruntled patient a way to retaliate against them.  Read full story >
