Vitamin D may help prevent falls

A high dose vitamin D supplement may help prevent seniors from taking falls, a new study has found. The analysis of eight other studies found that people over the age of 65 who took between 700 and 1,000 IUs of vitamin D3 per day reduced their falls by over one quarter. Experts say higher levels may be even more effective, but they say doctors should order blood tests to determine the safest high dose for elderly people.  Read full story >
