Olive oil compound may fight memory loss

A compound found in olive oil may help prevent Alzheimer's disease, researchers say. The compound--called oleocanthal--blocks toxic proteins that damage brain cells and lead to memory loss. The study's authors say that more research is needed to determine how oleocanthal works, but they believe that further study could lead to preventive treatment for dementia.  Read full story >
