More hereditary markers of Alzheimer's found

Middle aged children of Alzheimer's sufferers have a high risk of hypertension and other inflammatory conditions--a fact that experts say puts them at risk of dementia as well. Researchers in the Netherlands compared 206 adults with Alzheimer's in the family to 200 people who did not have Alzheimer's in the family. They found that those who had parents with Alzheimer's were a quarter more likely to carry the APOE e4 gene associated with dementia. They were also more likely to have high blood pressure and inflammatory markers in their blood.
