Muscle weakness linked to Alzheimer's

(U.S. News and World Report) UPDATED 2009-11-11
Elderly people who have muscle weakness are more likely to develop Alzheimer's disease, one new study suggests. Chicago scientists studied 970 older adults and found that those who had the strongest muscle control were 61 percent less likely to develop Alzheimer's during the 4-year follow up than adults who had the weakest muscles.
