Dementia Costs More Than Cancer, Heart Disease Combined

British researchers say that dementia costs the country 37 billion dollars per year--more than cancer and heart disease combined. The study, conducted by a trust at Oxford University, found that despite the cost and social implications of Alzheimer's, far less money is spent on finding a cure for the disease. Experts say this is a problem, particularly because the number of dementia sufferers is expected to double every 20 years.  Read full story >
