Damaged Protein May ID Alzheimer's in Healthy Adults

High levels of damaged tau proteins may help doctors predict Alzheimer's disease in healthy adults. A study of 57 healthy older adults found that those who showed signs of the damaged protein under MRI scans were more likely to have damage in the temporal lobe and worsening memory. Experts say the key to developing therapies for Alzheimer's depends on identifying people at risk before symptoms appear.
