Driving With Early Alzheimer's May Be More Dangerous Than Many Believe

Many patients diagnosed with early Alzheimer's continue to drive, but experts say that the risk of getting lost--even on familiar streets--is significant. A study on media reports of missing Alzheimer's patients found that many died, and some covered as much as 1,700 miles while lost, even if they had just been going out on a simple errand. Researchers say the problem is that Alzheimer's is unpredictable, and many patients who feel comfortable behind the wheel can experience confusion at any time.  Read full story >
