Beer Belly Linked to Alzheimer's

Men and women who carry weight around their middle in an "apple shape" have a higher risk of Alzheimer's disease. A study of 700 adults found that those who carried fat around their middle had lower brain volume than those who were not overweight, or those who were overweight but didn't carry weight around their belly. Lower brain volume is associated with dementia, experts say.
