PTSD May Increase Dementia Risk in Older Veterans

California researchers have found that older veterans who have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are almost twice as likely to develop dementia as vets who do not have the anxiety disorder. Though the scientists are not sure why PTSD boosts dementia risk, they speculate that years of stress can cause lasting changes in the brain that contribute to dementia.  Read full story >
