New Service Aims to Match Alzheimer's Patients, Clinical Trials

A new service aims to match Alzheimer's patients with potentially helpful clinical trials. Experts say there are more than 100 clinical trials currently underway, and dozens of medications are nearing the point of testing, but many do not sign up for clinical trials. More than 10,000 Alzheimer's patients are needed over the next five years, just to participate in trials currently ongoing. The new service--called TrialMatch--works something like an online dating site, where patients or their caregivers can put in their information and be given a list of potential clinical trial matches.
