Rheumatoid Arthritis Protein May Protect Against Alzheimer's

Scientists say a protein produced in people who have rheumatoid arthritis may help protect against the development of Alzheimer's disease. In a study of mice, animals who suffered from memory loss who were given the protein GM-CSF fared better in tests. Experts say the new study is an "important first step" in testing the protein as a treatment for people with Alzheimer's.
