My evening out ..

Well I did get out last evening .. went to the Classic Car cruise-in .. was a bit nervous , but once I pulled in and saw all the cars , my nervousness went to pure joy ..

I know I went to also mingle , but I took it slow and did a walk through , stopping by each car and admiring most .. smiling and nodding ..

As suggested I did find a seating area and so I sat for a bit .. as I also was tired .. once I did , I though , yikes ! All these people , and I felt a tinge of panic .. but stopped myself by saying to myself , "even though  I am alone and even though I am a stranger here, I still care deeply about myself and accept myself for who I am" ..

After thinking about that "I" statement for a few minutes , I got up and strolled once more .. this time stopping and asking brief questions or making nice statments about specific cars .. to both men and women ..

The men were more eager to "boast" or acknowledge .. the women were or seemed more skeptical and not as friendly .. but that is okay .. I did it for me , and while the cruise was for 3 hours , my visit lasted one .. and that is a huge , huge amount of time for me to be out among strangers in an open forum ..

So, I came home , walked my babies and felt pretty darn good .. I actually slept pretty well too .. so I would label this first adventure , a success .. so maybe the next one will be even better ..

Good for you! It sounds like it was a wonderful evening and you should be very proud of yourself! I am glad finding a place to sit helped out. Being able to walk around and make small talk or ask questions is a big step. Now that you have this success behind you (but you can enjoy it again and again in your mind), you can look forward to another success, moving forward always deserves a celebration, I hope you give yourself some type of reward for having accomplished this.

I hope all is going well in your neighborhood, as well.
