Your arcticle was very insightful for me as I am going thru menapause... yippy. I get hot flashes, as well as unpredictable periods that are either light or very heavy. My anxiety seems to increase with the hot flashes I guess in a way I'm lucky they are intermitent. With depression,anxiety, and my other issues sometimes I think I am going crazy, the moodiness is a pain because I can't always pin point why.

Thanks for your comment. Mood disorders, both depression and anxiety seem to wax and wane with our hormones. Unfortunately, sometimes this is put off as "just hormones" and assumed it will pass instead of being treated as a "real" concern. Hopefully, as more information like this comes out, doctors (and patients) will pay more attention to the emotional part of menopause and treat it as a real concern rather than something that will pass.
