Since April, 2010,
I had stopped taking xanax, as I didn't feel the need for it any longer. Recently I have been under some stressful events. My boyfriend will be laid off from his job by 12/31/10 which in and of it self is part of the economic times. Along with that family issues, his and mine have added to the stress causing my anxiety to return.
I take 2 a day, as my sleep has been out of wack for years. It does help me sleep and takes the edge off, but I still do not sleep thru the night. Up and down 2-3 times a night. I have taken OTC sleep aids with no success.
My therapist whom I have been seeing for three years is leaving the clinic which bothers me and I will miss her, so I am being assigned to someone else. It's hard to find someone I feel comfortable with, but I must go@ least twice a month for med review and talk therapy.
Just needed to vent..

How nice to hear from you again. I hope that you have had a nice holiday season.
It is good that you found you did not need Xanax to help you since April. I wouldn't be so hard on yourself, though, for needing to use it temporarily. We all have difficult and stressful times where our stress and anxiety increase. It sounds like that is what is going on with you. These are difficult times for many people financially and so many people are losing their jobs and facing this situation. You are certainly not alone. But that alone doesn't help when you are faced with trying to figure out how to pay all the bills without the money coming in to the household.
Take a deep breathe, remember all you learned on combatting anxiety symptoms and remember that this situation is temporary, that you will get back to the even keel you were on for the past six months.
Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.
