National Anxiety Organizations in the USA and Canada

When you have anxiety, it is sometimes hard to know where to turn for help and support but it is very important to have a network of support around you. Finding people that understand and are willing to support your efforts to overcome and manage your anxiety can make the success in treatment more possible.

 

Below are a number of organizations dedicated to helping people with anxiety disorders:

 

Anxiety Disorders Association of America

 

 This is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people living with anxiety by working in prevention, treatment and the cure of all types of anxiety disorders.

 

Their website provides a place to search for a therapist, a listing of current clinical trials, a listing of local support groups, self-tests as well as information to help individuals and their families.

Social Phobia/Social Anxiety Association

 

This is a non-profit organization providing information on living with social anxiety. There is also an e-mail list, which is therapy-oriented but also will provide information on social anxiety and any support groups forming in your area.

This group provides information on test anxiety including information on solutions and reviews on CD and DVD programs to help with test anxiety. The organization also provides web seminars for students dealing with test anxiety.
