    Hello Eileen

Most people with anxiety issues do take benzodiazepine and in my case I havew been on them for a long time, one of the dangers with this medication is addiction to them.

Altough I take the prescribe dosage I consider myself addicted to them, I did have the experience of getting off them completly with medical help and I can say without any hesitation that it was a heck of a ''ride'' these meds have half lifes so they stay in your system and the day comes were you think you need more to get the ''same'' effect actually its true as you build up a tolerence to them.

As far as Ativan goes I refer to it as the crack of benzos, being highly addictive especially Ativan s/l it reminds me of a drug that was on the market called Halcion maybe you heard of it gladly the FDA took it of the market.

I dont see the day were I wont take benzos anymore (sadly) altough I tried recently to get off them I just couldnt manage it.

So people beware of these drugs especially if you have a addictive personnality.
