Thanks for sharing your experience and I am glad you are feeling better. It sounds like you have been dealing with this for a very long time and it must be a great relief for it to be gone.

I have attacks so frequently, and sometimes they make my chest feel bruised inside...I'm sure my husband's concern doesn't help my reactions to them, I'll definitely bring it up at my next appointment, or if the pains and palpitations get too strong go to the walk-in clinic where they are also familiar with me (I tend to get a lot of sinus infections, etc. and it's hard to get worked in at my regular doctor and it's a lot cheaper to go to the W-I-C than the ER) and let them know what is going on and they can give me some feedback.

Your last paragraph states:

"Although heart palpitations can feel as if you are experiencing a life-threatening episode, remembering they are dangerous or harmful can go a long way toward learning to control, manage and live with heart palpitations and anxiety attacks."

Did you mean to say "...remembering they are not dangerous or harmful..."?

Just checking. Smile

Thanks for pointing that out, often it is hard to edit your own writing because you know what it is supposed to say and read that instead of what is actually written. This was written quite a while ago so I will actually have to ask the editor to correct this for me.

i just had a panic attack that lasted over an hour. i would have palpatations that would happen back to back at least 4 times in a row every couple of minutes. many of them are weird in that i get the feeling of my heart stopping but i dont get the hard pump after. does anyone know if this is just anxiety or something more serious?

these started when i was in the navy so i got free healthcare. i had many ekg's and a echocardiograhm done. i also wore a holter moniter for 2 weeks. Nothing wrong was detected though. These scare me beyond belief because i feel like im about to die. now that im out of the navy i dont have any health insurance and i dont really want to see a doctor because of the huge bills. thanks for reading =)

Thanks for your question. I am sorry you are having a difficult time right now. Palpitations can be a sign of anxiety, however, it would be impossible for me to know whether yours are from anxiety or from something else.

There are a number of resources you can use to see a doctor if you don't have insurance. See: Mental Health Resources When You Don't Have Health Insurance
