Hello Eileen,
I was reading your post on PTSD and found it to be very interesting. I hve PTSD and my reactions are almost to a T. When my Therapist first diagnosed me w/ it I was furious at her, claiming I had never been in combat or seen something horrifing in person. But I have come to realize that it is exactl that.
For me certain sounds smells, family reminanisant can trigger it. I am always on high alert and startle very easy, even when I know the person is in the same house. When I feel cornered or trapped my reactions are to fight or flight, its like being a wild animal.
