Anxiety, Depression, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, ADD
I've always had depression-like symptoms but because I didn't want to worry my family when I was younger, I kept it all to myself. Finally when I was old enough and had a well paying job with insurance, I went to see a psychiatrist and started taking Lexapro. Lexapro made a difference in my life for a year, but when I've never been a fan of taking pharmaceuticals. Unfortunately a few months after being off Lexapro it became clear that I needed to be medicated. My new doctor had me on Wellbutrin, trying to treat both ADD and depression at the same time, but Welbutrin did nothing for me, and I found myself getting increasingly angry. I'm not on Cymbalta and everything seems to be fine. Although my attention span still isn't the greatest, the depression has subsided and Cymbalta doesn't have the weight-gain side effect, as the Lexapro had on me. I'm still seeing my therapist and have become a much better person. Dr. Smith is simply the greatest. I look forward to seeing both of my Dr. Smiths!
