I know how you feel

Monday, April 20, 2009 at 10:26 PMSorry to hear you couldn't enjoy you favorite pass time with your family. I too am frustrated with this anxiety B.S, I can't enjoy anything like I used to. I'm a road bike guru and I hate the fact that riding my bike causes anxiety. I wake up having a panic attack every day and it lasts all day, but I'm not giving up, I'm not going to let it take over my life and neither should anyone else! When I get real bad I'll turn on some opera or soft classical music and close my eyes and clear my mind, it usually calms me down a little, which is funny because I usually listen to punk rock. Hang in there, this problem doesn't last forever.

Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 05:52 PMI completely understand...i cant enjoy going to bars with my friends, going out to dinner, or ball games. And now worst of all my doctor put me on Wellbutrin and im having the worst side effects from it which obviously cause me to panick its like a viscious cycle. Ya i try to just listen to music to relax or watch good movies or reading a good book.. the whole breathing exercise thing does nothing for me. I usually say f*ck it and act stronger than I am now lately im just so frustrated and fed up. im just not myself. anyway hope u have better days ahead!

Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 04:01 PMI was at a Yankee game when I was about your age and had a similar experience. What I did was walk around the stadium a little bit, splashed some cold water on my face, called a friend of mine (who happens to be a psychologist) and went back to my seat and did some deep breathing exercises. It seemed to work. I didn't force myself to feel good- I just sort of turned it over and let things play out. By the way I'm a Red Sox fan. Good luck in the playoffs and thanks for posting.

I am so sorry you were not able to enjoy the baseball game with your family. I know it must be very frustrating but it sounds like you have a supportvie family and that really counts for a lot.
Have you tried cognitive behavioral therapy to help reduce your feelings of anxiety? Below are a few links to some additional information on this:

I hope this helps and keep working at it.
