Earlier this week I took my wife to her appointment with her neurologist. I ask the neurologist can a person with epilepsy have seizures from stress and physical exercise.  My wife would complain the her head is hurting when she is under stress and exercising and some after she would have a seizure.  I talk to the neurologist  her head would go to hurting when she is under stress or excercising for a long period of time.  I ask could these factors cause her seizures.  His answer is no.  Is he right?

Thank you for your question. I am not a medical professional and would not be able to provide you with definitive medical information.

I did, however, find the following article that addresses how some people find that stress can trigger seizures:

Stress and Epilepsy

There is also an article on seizures and sports activities:

Sports and Leisure

I hope this helps.

STRESS!!  YES!!!!   My neuro is head of the department at the Medical Center here.  Stress and lack or sleep or interupted sleep can be the cause of a seizure.  Also has you wife hit her head lately?  Has she had a recent MRI? All questions my doc would have asked!  Good luck!
