Hello to all.   This SharePost was inspired today by a very rude and insensitive answer I received from a question I posted earlier this week. I am no expert, but I have done a lot of reading and research on the things that affect me. Knowledge is the key to trying to understand how to fix a p...

I agree with your post for the most part, knowledge is key to understanding mental health issues.  I research things a lot to better understand my GAD,PTSD, and depression.  I can say from experience it is a daily battle no matter what meds you take.  You must be your own advocate at times too, because some times health care providers don't always look @ side effects or complications that could have serious consequences.  On the other hand I don't get to carried away w/ the side effect pamphlets sent along w/ my scripts other wise I would be too fearful of taking what may help me to function.

As for insensitive people thats a given to some one who has never had to deal with the daily struggles of mental health issues.

    Take it day by day...

    Hi there,

Thanks for your support. You are right about reading the literature. I am on Androderm testosterone patches as well and my biggest mistake was reading the map sized fold out of the possible side effects. It took me six months to start the treatment based on the insert.

Thanks again for your positive response and hope you get everything worked out with the issues you are facing. You seem to have a real positive attitude and that really helps when dealing with your issues.

As far as the negativity I received, I have gotten over it and moved on. I was mad at first, but it just really caught me off guard a little. Having dealt with most of the major issues in my life this far, nothing should surprise me anymore.

    Take care and stay positive,

You are most welcome, when I discovered this site I was grateful to be able to talk about my issues with people who have been there and understand me.  It and my therapist are only real support.  I think my family is afraid of it and are unable to support me.  My boyfriend is supportive as well but sometimes I get tired of my own complaints and just wanna enjoy a good day.  Keep in touch, glad I could be of some help.

I just read you post and to tell you the truth I am suprise that you had a reply like the one you mention, I have been on this site for quite a while now and I can assure you that this site is a serious one.

People here share together and the experts here are quite usefull and very ethical, so I am sorry if you were offended in any way, but one thing tough since I have been here as I said for a while I can tell you that the post's are not as you quoted ''what pill will make feel good'' yes it happens but please dont generalize it.

I have made some friends here and I can assure you that they are quite serious when it comes to the subject.

This being said I hope that you will continue posting ''we never know when we make a difference''

So again Welcome to the site !

    Hi Suffolk,

I apologize if I got carried away with the generalization thing. I have been to a number of other blogs and usually it seems that most of the people are phishing for substances for a good time rather than actually looking for a remedy or some sort of mental improvement. I am glad that you have reassured me that most users take the site serious.

I was just really mad yesterday. When I saw that the "answer" was so offensive, I just felt like hitting something, and I never ever feel angry. Luckily anger management is one of my strongest points. Anyway, the post has been removed and I am very happy about that. It will not keep me from pursuing my goal of feeling better and I am glad that this site is well moderated. Thanks for your comment and I will be sure to keep an eye out for your postings.

Don't get too cold up there. It was a whopping 45 Degrees F here today and that is cold for this part of Texas. It is really mild here in the winter. Usually its stays around 55 to as high as 70 F this time of year, but its hot as hell here in the summer.

    Thanks again for your support,

    James (Centxbear)
