I have been suffering from anxiety for my entire life.....it really controls me. It makes me unable to do alot of things in life and I wish it would just end...the only way I can control it is with medication...it is so severe that most times I end up home alone instead of doing activities with my family because of it....does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get a better handle on this....or if anyone knows of support groups for this disorder...
Thankx, Kerri

Thanks for your post and welcome to AnxietyConnection.com. We have a lot of great information on managing anxiety on the site so I hope you will take some time to look around.
I don't know whether or not you have tried cognitive behavioral therapy but many people find this to be as effective as medication. It does take some hard work, but you might want to talk to some therapists in your area to find someone who specializes in working with adults with anxiety.
As far as support groups, you can check on the Anxiety Disorders Association of America website
ADAA Support Group Listing
Please also take some time to read some of the posts and questions from other members. Sharing your story and your experiences can help them and help you as well. We all learn from one another.
Again, welcome to the site!
