I saw the news today

By Michel Monday, January 05, 2009

And it wasnt good !

I'm speaking of the Gaza strip, rockets flying people dying and living in constant fear, talk about stress it must be, it is horrible all in the name of what ? Religion, Homeland.

And here I am with my pills for my anxiety, I feel like a fraud compare to what these people are living, teenagers who are so affraid that they urinate and defacate in there bed.

I cannot start to Imagine the suffering, I saw it on tv they make it a point to show us the violence but...it is censured of course, but still when I saw this father trying to breathe back life into is baby, and here I am watching this in the comfort of my living room, I feel guilty because I know I am a part of it I know...

What will I do...nothing of course but write these few lines.

Shame on me

I try not to watch the news much.  Not that I don't care about what is going on in the world, but for me it triggers my anxiety, so I limit what I can tolerate, its depressing and you feel helpless and yes aven some what guilty.  The world is a scary place and maybe it's safer not to over whelm your self with all the terrible things happening.

Hi Dewalt

Well I think (for me) that it is important to stay informed on whats is happening in world news, even if it is quite harsh to watch and listen to at times, it is not because I have medical issues that I must be blind to the conflicts and other situation in the news.

Yes I agree with you that for a lot of us it does triggers anxiety, but for me its a personnal choice in my line of thinking the more I cut off myself from the world the more I stay dependant of my anxiety.

Early good Morning Suffolk,

You are right I don't want to close my self off from the world, I watch or read as much as I can tolerate.  I commend you for facing the world as it comes good bad or indifferent.  Guess I just haven't quite got to that place yet.

Take care
