Buspar, the last drug I want to take

By mark Monday, June 07, 2010

I stopped taking Buspar, It has never helped with my anxiety and does nothing for my psychoneurotic disorder. It has started to mess with me really bad, every time I stand up I get dizzy and faint as well as it gives me a numbing sensation all over my body and tingling and it makes my anxiety worse. Buspar is a drug that should not be takin for more than 4 weeks and I have been taking it for almost two months. It is not a benzo and does not work the same way, it belongs to a class of compounds known as azaspirodecanediones and people who have switched from benzos to Buspar usually do not feel the benefits of the med. compared to those who have never takin benzos. Though it is said that Buspar is non-addictive and relatively safe it is acually habit forming and a very dangerous drug. I don't like most anti-anxiety drugs, most of them are dangerous and very addictive. Klonipin is the only drug that has helped me, all the others just get me loaded and tired, but klonipin doesn't and is a more long term medication than Ativan or Buspar. I have not yet felt any withdrawals from Buspar but I think they will come and I'm well prepared for it. I know all the withdrawal symptoms which include; irritability, anxiety, agitation, insomnia, tremor, abdominal cramps, muscle cramps, vomiting, sweating, flu-like symptoms without fever and occasionally seizures may occur. In my opinion Buspar is a terrible drug and I would not recommend to any one

I hope that you have discussed stopping this medication with your doctor. Although you are prepared for the withdrawal, but it would be best if your doctor is aware of you no longer taking the Buspar in case you need help with any of the symptoms that develop.

Please check back and let us know how you are doing. Maybe keeping a blog diary here will help you to get through this.
