I need to know whether theres ANY REASON at all that a person with bi-polar/Anxiety disorder cant be placed on non narcotic drugs for the anxiety?  They are presently prescribed Clonopin and are attebding Narcotics Anonymous meetings where the "goal" of their program is "complete abstinence" from all drugs.

Psych proffessionals please give ANY reason why we shouldnt ask her to switch!

Im almost a PA now (doing clinical time) and this issue has came up,  thanx!

hi my name is stephanie and i too suffer from bipolar, panic disorder, the past 7 months of my life have been complete hell,  i started by going to detox and then to the psychiatric ward and then on to rehab, where they gave me seroquil, which does help somewhat with the racing thoughts - but not completely.  i had been taking xanax 10 mg. for 14 years. i have to tell you that evn the na meetings did not help,  on this friday i went to the emergency room where they gave me clonopin , i have to tell you that this is what i truly needed, right now i have been taking 1mg of clonopin each day and i have to tell you the difference is night and day. i believe that if you take the clonopine as directed by a medical dr. as directed, na is still a very important way of life
