Hello,

I am a new member.

I have been struggling with panic disorder all my life. I have also been diagnosed with OCD and bi-polar. With that said, I have raised two beautiful children and have had a fairly regular life. The biggest issue is that I fear going places which puts a burden on my loved ones. I have educated myself in the field of psychology (in college and self education) to become more empowered with my situation. Throughout my life I have tried many different types of meds, hypnosis, anxiety programs, anxiety groups and read many possitive self-help books.

I HAVE learn many "tricks and tips" to help me deal with the feelings of panic and anxiety.

But I am always grateful to hear what has worked with others in my situation.

Thank you,

giny

Dear Ginny, thanks so much for your post. I'm so sorry to hear that you have to deal with anxiety, but there is comfort in knowing that there are many, many people out there going through the same thing we are. It sounds like you're describing agorophobia when you mentioned that you're fearful to go out. I know all about, as do many people in this community, so I just want to remind you that-- although it might feel that way-- you are not alone. I would love to hear what tips and tricks you've learned to cope with anxiety. I worry that I'm going to spend all my life feeling this way and yet I know in my heart -- and even my head too-- that it doesn't have to be that way. So what have been the best techniques you've found to deal with anxiety?

Thanks again for stopping by. Please come back and give us an update on how you're feeling. We are here for you!
