Trying to drive

By denver_driver303 Thursday, July 23, 2009

I recently joined the site, and figured that i would definitley try and drive to the grocery store that was a little further than the one closer by. I felt this really strong anxiety coming on, i dont know if it was the traffic, the red lights, or the downtown denver experience. I didn't want to turn around and feel like i didn't accomplish anything. I called my sister-in-law and talked with her throughout my drive and visit at the grocery store. If i didn't ahve anyone to talk to i would've for sure turned around and not have went to the store. Is it because of driving downtown? i was perfect driving to this grocery store and further last week. Why is this happening to me again?????

Welcome to the site. I hope you find a lot of good information here to help you. I did answer your other question and gave you some links to articles on cognitive behavioral therapy that you might find helpful.

I think it is great that you are trying to overcome your anxiety and how nice that you had someone you could call to help you through this. It is obvious you are working hard to overcome this and that is going to help you.

Talk with your doctor and ask about therapy.

Let us know how you are doing.
