A psychological evaluation will determine if you have agoraphobia. A psychiatrist or psychologist will ask your a series of questions about your history of panic attacks, physical health, and feelings. If your case fits the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-IV) criteria, then you will have an official agoraphobia diagnosis. A physical exam is also recommended because physical symptoms like chest pain could also be symptoms for other conditions like heart disease.
