Stress is a part of daily life but when it snowballs to a state where it impairs you health you may have Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Criteria for an anxiety diagnosis includes constant worry, stress and anxiety that lasts more than six month. The patient must exhibit physical and mental symptoms of anxiety. A psychiatrist or psychologist are the experts in diagnosing and treating an anxiety disorder. It's important to also consult a general physician to rule out the possibility of other diseases that could have similar symptoms as GAD.
