Performance anxiety is a fear of speaking or performing in public. People exhibit symptoms of a panic disorder like fast breathing, anxiety, and sweating when faced with an audience. Diagnosis can occur after one panic attack. A psychiatrist or psychologist can diagnose performance anxiety and recommend medication or behavioral therapy.
