withdrawal from lorazepam
does anyone know how long it takes for lorazepam 1 mg to get out your sysrem. I was on it for 2 months taking it a bedtime and only when needed. I am now taking mirtazapine 30 mg at bedtime, it helps he fall alsleep but I am still waking up in the middle of the night with nightsweats any insights.

You can read about Lorazepam (brand name Ativan) here. If you stopped the medication (hopefully with your Doctor's approval and advice) you should already have it out of your system if it's beena few days. However different medicines have different results.
You can call your pharmacist and ask what the half life of the medication is. The half life can be minutes, hours, or days. Karen Lee Richards, one of the Health Central resident experts, has this to say about the half life of medication:
"The general rule of thumb is that it takes 5 to 6 times the half-life of the drug for it to get out of your system. However, this may vary depending on amount and frequency of use, metabolic rate, body mass, age, overall health, drug tolerance, and urine pH. "
