Q: The pdoc told me that ambien cr is a benzodeizipine and is like ativan in a sort.

I went to the pdoc today and he told me that I could take less of the ativan and since I take ambien cr at bedtime I didn't have to take the ativan due to they are both benzo's.  I never knew this.   Also, he told me that after taking ambien cr for a while I would have to discontinue it and try something else.  He said there is a prescription melatonin now.  Has anyone ever tried this?

Hi Susan,

Melatonin is a natural hormone occuring in most animals and humans. go to www.wikipedia.org. Type in the search engine American Medical Association, that will take you to the home medical page. Type in Melatonin and it will tell you all about it, or type in any medication or medical conditions, you will find this site quite complete for your questions.vlbhopesSmile
