From my own expereince certain blood pressure medications do bring on anxiety. I have a history of anxiety in my family and use Xanax as needed.  I had been on lotrel for about 4 years for my blood pressure. I actually cut down on the need for anxiety meds on this medication.  Then last Nov. my dr. changed by bp meds because the lotre wasn't working as well.  I experienced insomia, heart racing, and exteme bouts of anxiety on the new medication (exforge) . I did some research and found that meds that are arb's can contribute to anxiety.  I don't know if this is temporary but I changed my medication due to the sideffects..On researching further I found that it's not uncommon for bp meds to induce anxiety. Look up the side effects of your drug. Hope this helps. lindam
