Q: Can Cymbalta cause a rise in vasodepressant symptoms in someone battling the fluid imbalance symptoms of this disorder?

I seem to be having a "side effect" or conflict with my treatment using Cymbalta for Anxiety and Fibromyalgia.  It is causing me to feel the effects of Vasodepressor syndrome (SYNCOPE, FLUID IMBALANCE (Constantly thirsty "dehydrated", dry mouth, dry eyes,) I am Craving potassium foods, (Bell Peppers and Watermelon) and calcium (Pineapple, cheese and Brocolli and Brussel sprouts (ewwww)!.  Too much sodium in foods or drinking caffeine beverages.  makes symptoms worse

to make things more difficult to track down and manage properly I have excessive daytime sleepiness (mean sleep latency of 5-12 minutes) was being treated by a Neurologist for Narcolepsy with Provigil but was not receiving enough energy for a full day of work and Fibromyalgia symtpoms were flairing up without naps, changed to NUVIGIL and was not receiving much more energy on the single dose uped to twice a day and was able to make it to 6 pm but just barely, but the muscle weakness and "wasting became acute.

Thank you for your question and welcome to AnxietyConnection.com.

I am not a medical professional and would not be able to give you medical advice.

I am not familiar with vasodepressant symptoms and really can't provide you with any further information. Because of your different medical conditions, your doctor would be the best person to speak with. He or she would be familiar with your different conditions as well as the different medications you are taking and be able to address whether there are any drug interactions or side-effects that could be addressed and treated.

I am sorry I could not be of more help.

Eileen
