Q: I am taking Lexapro 20 mg I was told there is no generic.Is there a generic ?

The generic for Lexapro is "Escitalopram Oxalate".From all the blogs I have read, this is an excellent med. I actually have a Dr. appointment today and am going to ask him about putting me on this med. Good luck!!!!

I just found out by my pharamist that there is a sister med to Lexapro and it's called Celexa. Amazing! There is a generic for Celexa but can't remember or spell it. Celexa does have one extra ingredient in it so I'm going to talk w/your doctor and hopefully can switch. It'll save me a ton of money since I have no insurance. I've been taking 10 mg of Lexapro for about 1-1/2 yrs and like it very much. How are you doing on it?
