Hi Kellyfb:
CC is right, but here's an additional thing that you can do to help. Lay on your back, put a book on your tummy and when you take the slow deep breaths, make sure the book is moving and not your chest. If your chest is moving, you are doing it wrong.
You can learn how to do this through my "Breathing Lessons" Just click on this purple link and it will take you directly there. Practice it faithfully 4 times a day and when you need it you will be able to stop or prevent a panic attack.
Best of Luck,
Dr. Diana Walcutt
