It would be impossible to say whether the increase in panic attacks comes from receiving a shot of valium. What was the reason for receiving the shot? You said you were having anxiety attacks about once per month, but were you having other symptoms of anxiety on a regular basis? What is going on in your life? Are you going through a stressful time? Could there be something else that may be causing the anxiety attacks?
You might want to keep a daily journal of your symptoms. Self-monitoring can help you and your doctor review your progress and determine if your treatment is working. See: The Importance of Self-Monitoring.
